Question:
Why is there a discrepancy between the area of my survey and area to be paid?
Answer:
There is a minimum area of 15 acres (6 hectares) to be paid for any operation carried out on a field survey. So the minimum is always 15 acres (6 hectares).
Also, the area to be paid for is calculated based on the triangulated surface that joins the survey points which make up the 'Existing Topography' surface. The area within the boundary is not used so the user can move the boundary around as much as possible. In some locations (like internal corners) the triangulated surface may form between points which create a surface that is outside the edge of the survey. This sometimes increases the area beyond what is expected.
You can minimize this issue by reducing the 'Maximum Triangulation Length' by clicking Tools Menu > Project Properties.
