Trimble FMX / TMX can import shape files as guidance lines. Follow the steps below.

  1. Export the shape file from OptiSurface Designer. Go to File > Export Landform Design > select Shape File (*.shp) as File Type and save in selected folder. This will generate three sets of shape files: points shape file, zones shape file and lines shape file (.SHP, .SHX, DBF).

For Ditch Network Design or Contour Banks, go to File > Export Breaklines. For Rice Levee Design, go to File > Export Rice Levees. These will generate the lines shape file.

  2. Copy the lines shape file to the USB thumb drive and rename as LineFeatures.SHP/SHX/DBF for the FMX/TMX to operating system to recognize them.

  3. Insert the USB thumb drive to the FMX / TMX and copy LineFeature.SHP/SHX/DBF to the field folder as shown below.
