3.4.19 Background

Overview:
  Import a background image from a file or from Google Maps.  This is especially useful in estimating important locations across the map.


Displayed by:
  Tools > Background
Or

Options:

  • Import Image File... - imports an image file (.png or .bmp) using the center of the current map window as center of imported image
  • Import Google Map... - imports Google Map image using the center of the current map window as center of imported image. Also, multiple background images can be added to cover large fields.  Just pan to another location and choose Import Google Map...  again.
  • Properties - adjust the transparency of the background image.

Options:

  • Adjust Image Extents - adjust and drag the corners of the selected image as required.
  • Delete Image - delete selected background image
  • Properties - adjust the transparency of the background image.
Note:
Choose to display or hide the background by ticking ON and OFF 'Background' under Miscellaneous in Project Explorer.
